When Miles arrives in Edinburgh for his first holiday in years, the last thing he expects is to run into his long lost childhood friend Aileena. Ten years ago, he fled the UK to settle in France, running from his homophobic father and his family’s toxic wealth, cutting off all ties with his previous life in the process. Including Aileena.
Hiding his wounds behind a layer of make-up and sass, Miles gets caught between the nostalgia of their teenage years and Aileena’s beauty, and falls in love with her all over again. Between the hurdles of a long-distance relationship and Aileena’s struggles with her transition, they have much to overcome.
This time, if Miles doesn’t want to break both their hearts, he might have to open up and show his true self. Easier said than done.

1973. It’s been some 20 years since Bill saw Bobby for the last time, and he certainly didn’t expect to run into him again at work. The men have baggage, and more that meets the eye. They’ve known each other since school and much happened since, before they parted ways on heartbreak.
Twenty years later, is Bill ready to finally admit his feelings, his sexuality, and to gather his courage to conquer his old lover and friend once more?
I could talk about this book forever. I probably will. It’s firmly rooted in my mind as a prime example of queer historical fiction and romance, told through time and space and fear and desperate yearning, and one that ends with queer joy. An exceptional book all around.

When Andy Campbell, Detective Inspector in Leicester, gets assigned the case of Mr Parry’s disappearance, she expects to find nothing else than an umpteenth marriage ruined by a husband taking off with his mistress.
Instead, she ends up investigating a murder case, and struggling to fight her attraction for Mrs Parry. When she realises the feelings are mutual, things definitely get complicated…
With romance and suspense woven together, I loved every nail biting and heart-melting moment. I felt every single word right in my stomach. Merlina Garance knows words; knows how to pack a punch in the subtlest but most beautiful of ways.

He makes friends, starts doing yoga, and joins an RPG campaign.
Only one day, he realises he might just have fallen in love with his best friend.
Oops.
After kissing Stu at a wedding, John runs away, convinced he’s ruined things. Only when he finds out that all their friends had suspected he and Stu might have been attracted to each other, he wonders if there’s actually a chance for him to fix things…
Will they manage to properly communicate and sort themselves out?
In this slow paced tale of falling in love over time, follow these characters on their journey to self discovery and acceptance, and found family.
This is a story about love in all its forms: friendship, romantic, the family we are born with, and the one we end up choosing.
It’s truly a wonderful book, full of sweet affection that blossoms into full-on romantic and sexual attraction. It’s about finding yourself later in life, fixing past wrongs and reconciling with pain, self-improvement and queer community. It’s about noticing how easy it is to embrace the people you love as they are, and being brave enough to offer the same grace to yourself, to live the life you want to live.

Claire, a Detective Inspector in her late forties, has known and worked with Estelle for many years. Ever since they met, it felt like there could have been something more there: Estelle’s gentle flirting and compliments have been a constant in Claire’s life, but her self confidence never allowed her to truly believe the other woman meant anything by it.
Until one day, Claire breaks her leg and finds out soon after that Estelle has decided to retire from the police, at only 56. Something doesn’t feel right there, but before Claire can begin to ask more questions, Estelle offers to take her away to her seaside cottage for a week. After all, with Claire on sick leave and Estelle retired, they both have the time.
Surely a week of lazy mornings, too much food and wine, and walks through the countryside aren’t enough to make Claire fall when she’s resisted for so long?
Mending Bones is a short, sugary and spicy quick-burn romance book that made me laugh, cry […]. The fun, the angst and the sexy scenes are well balanced and all of them feel authentic and memorable. It also holds a wonderful message, not just hidden along the lines but voiced out loud in various points, that no matter who you are, how you look or how old you are: you have a right to belong, take your space and be yourself, unapologetically. You deserve good things.
