Bisaje

Bisaje is a collaboration between Alex, a Mexican visual artist, and Merlina, a French writer.
It was born from their shared experience and friendship. Through five poems and paintings, it tells the journey of a queer person and their difficulties, from birth to finding acceptance and peace.
Bisaje is a neologism, born from the French word “visage” and the prefix “bi”. It could be translated to “two faces” to represent the experience of someone belonging to a marginalised identity having to hide their true self, to wear a mask, but also, in a more hopeful way, all the different facets of one’s personality.
